Claudio Martinez has more than 40 years of experience in executive, technical leadership and academic roles, including works at Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) and the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV).
He holds a BSc and MSc in Petroleum Engineering from the Universidad del Zulia, Venezuela and an MBA in Macro-economics and Management from the Institute of Superior Studies of Administration (IESA), Venezuela.
He is recognized by the Society of Petroleum Engineer (SPE) and other petroleum organizations as one of the top 10 experts in the field of light and heavy crude reservoir estimation and production processes (including Steam injection with natural gas, solvent and with installed pumping equipment).
Mr. Martinez has served as a consultant in a commercial agreement between the Venezuela government and the China National Petroleum Corporation in a R&D project related to “Hot Gas Injection in Heavy Crude Reservoir '', one of his main areas of expertise.
He also served as a coordinator for the “Orinoco Belt Heavy Crude Production Optimization Program” and also coordinated the FEL project, a commercial agreement between the Mexican National Petroleum Company (PEMEX) and PDVSA.
Claudio Martinez is also a recognized expert in the development of educational programs and served as Program Manager in E&P at the Corporate University of PDVSA (CIED).
He also served as undergraduate professor at the school of Petroleum Engineering UCV and as President of the PDVSA-UCV consortium.
