Ricardo Prada Silvy has more than 30 years of industrial experience in executive leadership and technical managing positions in Oil & Gas and nanotechnology companies.
He holds a BS in Chemistry-Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV) and a PhD in Catalysis and Materials Sciences from the Universite Catholique de Louvain (Belgium).
He has extensive knowledge of the main operations and businesses in the oil refining, gas, petrochemical and nanotechnology industries.
He is recognized by the international catalysis community as an authority in the field of catalyst development, scaling-up and commercial production for the hydrotreating, hydrocracking, hydro-isomerization processes and all types of advanced carbon nanomaterials.
He served as consultant of Petrobras-Cenpes in the area of Gas to Liquid (GTL) and in the development of educational programs at the Institute of Energy of the America at the University of Oklahoma (OU). He also served as postgraduate professor in Chemical Engineering at the UCV and at OU
Prada Silvy is a recognized expert in the development of educational programs and served as manager of the refining, petrochemical and gas programs at the Corporate University of PDVSA (CIED). He was also a certified instructor (I) on technical training for processes engineers in these programs.
Prada Silvy is the inventor of more than 30 International patents that resulted in more than 20 commercial products including catalysts, detergents and carbon nanomaterials, and published more than 110 scientific articles in prestigious scientific and oil & gas journals. He has received several awards for creativity and innovation and recognition for his inventions.
